Share a ride to your hotel
Why This is Green
You know public transportation and/or carpooling is better for the earth (not to mention your car and your wallet) than driving all alone in your car. You reduce your environmental impact and save money by maximizing the number of people going anywhere per gallon of gasoline. And yet, when going to and from the airport, train station, or bus depot when traveling, do you instantly jump in a taxi? The next time you travel, why not try taking shared transportation to and from your hotel—be it a train, a bus, or some sort of shuttle van. The more you travel, the bigger the impact will be.
Beyond minimizing the footprint of your airport transfer, you’ll likely save time; shuttles and buses can use express lanes, avoiding traffic congestion. And you might even make a new friend.

How To
Before you leave home, research what your transportation options will be on arrival. That way you won’t be scrambling once you reach your destination.
Have your flight, train, or bus as well as hotel information on hand; you might need to make a reservation.
If you have a choice between several options, choose the eco-friendliest mode of transportation. A hybrid shuttle would use less gas than a regular van, for example.
